Ministry Lunch - Discipleship THrough Work, Mentorship, and Mission

Speakers: Aaron Jones, Operations Manager, Harambee Youth Training,

This ministry lunch will focus on discipleship through shared work and faithful presence, exploring how vocational labor, mentorship, and consistency function as powerful tools for spiritual formation. We will discuss leading youth in an urban context, cultivating servant leadership, and integrating faith, work, and mission in everyday ministry settings.

About Harambee: Harambee Youth Training is a Christian job training and discipleship ministry serving youth ages 12–18 in North St. Louis City. Through a structured tuckpointing job training program, we combine hard work, mentorship, and gospel-centered relationships to develop character, responsibility, and leadership in young people. Our crews provide free tuckpointing services to low-income homeowners, many of whom are widows, while investing daily in the lives of youth. We believe faithful presence, consistency, and shared work are powerful means of discipleship and transformation.

Ministry Lunch - Church Planting in Post-Christendom Scandinavia

Speakers: Rev. Andrew Fox Lupton, MTW Scandinavia Team Leader & Grace International Church of Oslo Church Planter; and Rev. Jonas Stava, MTW Scandinavia & Grace International Church of Oslo Church Planter

How did one of Europe’s most historically Christian regions become one of its most secular and what is the future of the church in Scandinavia? In recent generations, many Scandinavians have enjoyed a prosperous life apart from God. But with growing pressures from immigration, the influx of Islam, and the deepening emptiness of secularism, spiritual hunger is surging across Scandinavia. The movement to plant healthy, grace-based churches for both Scandinavians and internationals is more vital than ever in a region where Reformed and Presbyterian churches have few historical roots. Join members of the MTW church-planting team in Oslo, Norway to learn more and discover how you can help reach Scandinavia.

Ministry Lunch – Resound Project NYC: Ministry Residencies & Internships

Speaker: Andrew Smith, Director of Emerging Leaders Program, Resound Project NYC

Resound Project is an initiative out of Central Presbyterian Church (EPC) in New York City, the purpose of which is to strengthen new and existing churches in light of a changing world so that the gospel of Jesus Christ might resound to the next generation. An integral part of Resound Project is the Emerging Leaders Program, through which Central is seeking to function as the first of several “teaching hospitals” in order to cultivate a pipeline of future leaders to serve the broader Church in a variety of different contexts.

To that end the program has two offerings: 1) a two-year, full-time stipended residency program for male seminary graduates seeking ordination as gospel ministers; 2) a part-time stipended ministry internship program for current male and female seminary students (who would live in NYC while completing their seminary coursework online remotely). Ministry interns will also have their seminary tuition covered by the program.

Come join us to learn more.

Ministry Lunch - From Tapas to Theology: RUF and Church Planting in Spain

Speaker: Jamie Burkemper, Team Leader with Mission to the World in Madrid, Spain

What does it take to share Christ in a culture where community happens at midnight over tapas and coffee? We’ll explore how to read culture, enter into rhythms that feel foreign, and create spaces where the gospel connects with real life. These are practical skills for anyone preparing to serve cross-culturally — whether in Europe or in your own neighborhood.
We serve in Madrid, Spain, where the streets come alive long after midnight — but less than 1% of the population knows Christ. Our ministry plants gospel-centered churches, reaches university students through RUF, and uses the arts to open doors for conversations that matter. Madrid is our launchpad for training and sending leaders to bring gospel renewal across Spain. We believe God can awaken hearts in a culture that thinks it has already left Christianity behind.

Lunch provided.
