Welcome

Confidential, free counseling is available for anyone in the St. Louis area through the Covenant Seminary Counseling Center. This service is provided by MAC students who are in the Practicum or Internship portion of their program. Student counselors are supervised by members of the counseling faculty and other licensed counseling professionals.

Free counseling is available for individuals, couples, and adolescents aged 5 and older. We look forward to hearing how we can be of help.

Process

If you are interested in this service, please email us. You can also reach us by phone at (314) 392-4241.

When you email or call, you will be connected with an intake coordinator who will ask you intake questions and work to match you with the student counselor who is the best fit for your needs and goals. If a student counselor is not available, we have an extensive referral list to Christian counselors throughout the St. Louis area. Please note that because our services are free, we often have a waitlist.

About our counselors

Covenant Seminary equips men and women to become biblically grounded and clinically focused counselors. An integral part of this process is preparing students practically via internships. Our counseling interns are in the final year of their degree program and have completed much of their coursework. A part of their internship process is meeting weekly for supervision with a licensed professional counselor, both in a small cohort group setting and one-on-one. This provides our community with a unique opportunity to receive free counseling while giving our counseling students valuable experience.

If you are interested in becoming a counselor, we would invite you to learn more about how our Master of Arts in Counseling program can equip you to help extend God’s care and blessing to a hurting world.

Location

All counseling takes place at the Covenant Seminary Counseling Department on the second floor of Buswell Library. We have also made a temporary shift to also offer online counseling sessions via Zoom. Professional guidelines dictate that we can only offer online telehealth services to those who reside in Missouri and must be able to attend face-to-face sessions on the Covenant campus once online services are discontinued.
