Dr. Mark Dalbey
president Emeritus
Dr. Mark Dalbey brings nearly 50 years of experience as a teacher and pastor to his responsibilities as Covenant Seminary’s former president and now President Emeritus. He came to the Seminary in 1999 following seven years as senior pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Indiana, before which he served as pastor of The Church of the Covenant in Cincinnati, Ohio, and as a chaplain and Bible instructor at Geneva College. At the Seminary, he served for ten years as Dean of Students, then as Vice President of Academics and Assistant Professor of Applied Theology. In 2012, he took on the additional role of Interim President while the Seminary conducted a formal search for the next president. In May 2013, he became President as the unanimous choice of our Board of Trustees, serving in that role until his retirement in 2021. Dr. Dalbey also served as Professor of Applied Theology.
Dr. Dalbey’s doctoral work focused on corporate worship. His heart for worship is evident as he taught the MDiv worship class and advised worship pastors/leaders throughout the denomination. He also taught a DMin class on grace-based leadership and co-taught a class on gospel-centered parenting with his wife, Beth. He recently served as Interim Pastor of Rocky Mountain Community Church (PCA) in Billings, Montana.
He and Beth enjoy time with their three married children and twelve grandchildren.
