Dr. Daniel M. Doriani
Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology
Daniel Doriani is Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Covenant Seminary. He earned his MDiv and PhD at Westminster Seminary and a Masters at Yale University where he was also a research fellow in 1981 and 1995. After finishing his PhD, Dr. Doriani pastored a small church for four years and taught theology at a college level for five years before becoming a professor of New Testament at Covenant Seminary in 1991. He taught from 1991 to 2003 and from 2013 until the present, serving as Academic Dean and/or Vice President for sixteen of those years while teaching full-time. From 2003 to 2013 he pastored a large urban church, and from 2023 to 2025 he served as Interim Pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, the founding church of the PCA. He has served as interim pastor on eight other occasions.
Dr. Doriani joined the executive board of The Gospel Coalition in 2022. He frequently speaks at conferences and has authored or co-authored twenty books. Two facilitate interpretation and application of Scripture, Getting the Message and Putting the Truth to Work. Seven are New Testament commentaries. Others explore biblical ethics, gender roles, biblical manhood, and work. His book Work: Its Purpose, Dignity, and Transformation led him to establish the Center for Faith and Work in St. Louis in 2019. Its podcast, “Working, with Dan Doriani,” interviews people who change their corner of the world through their work. He hopes to complete a commentary on 1 Corinthians and a book for fathers in 2025.

Working with Dan Doriani
This podcast seeks to fire the imagination of Christians who long to practice their faith at work. The podcast features interviews of people who try to practice their faith at work. Guests may be famous or unknown. They may be very successful, quietly faithful, or instructive in their woes. We typically interview mature Christians, but there are exceptions. The common thread is a desire to live by one’s faith and convictions. Guests include professional athletes, award-winning broadcasters, a librarian, a surgeon, a Harvard-educated opioid addict, politicians, and more.
