Community of Latin American Students

The Community of Latin American Students (CELA, as per the acronym in Spanish and Portuguese) exists to provide a community for students to engage the Latin American heritage and provides Latin American students a place to express their Latino culture at Covenant Seminary. It also exists to enhance every seminary student’s education and experience by bringing awareness of and fostering constructive dialogue on issues affecting the Latin American community in the church and around the globe, bringing a necessary perspective to theological matters and encouraging responsible action toward these concerns. All of these things are done through various events which include, but are not limited to: ministry lunches, panel discussions, workshops, cultural awareness events, meetings, dialogue with other students, and social gatherings.

We meet once a month for different things, including fellowship, hosting ministry lunches, workshops, cultural awareness events, etc.

Most of our events are on campus but we sometimes meet in each other’s homes, at parks, or wherever we can be loud!

All Latin American and Hispanic Students and spouses!
