Nashville

A Story Above All Others

Nashville is a place where a good story is appreciated. The best-loved songs tell stories that bring us together, illuminate our journey and offer hope. The believer understands there is one story above all others and in its telling lives will be transformed. This is why we are excited to be launching Covenant Seminary Nashville as an extension of our St. Louis campus.

Now world-class Bible scholars are available in person to share their scholarly expertise and passion for the Gospel. Whether you’re building a career, pursuing your hunger for more knowledge or you sense a calling to full-time Christian service, Covenant Seminary Nashville courses are designed for you.

2020-2021 update: residential courses are not being offered in Nashville due to Covid-19. Nashville students may continue their ministry training through our online courses this year.

Why Nashville?

Scott Sauls & Scotty Smith talk about why Nashville is an important city for the advance of the gospel.

Degrees

Covenant Seminary Nashville will offer courses from the Master of Arts (Theological Studies) (MATS) curriculum. You will learn to read and interpret your Bible faithfully, understand God’s redemptive story more deeply, and discover how the Lord has equipped you to serve. Each course will provide outstanding scholarship from a Covenant Seminary professor and help you grow in your faith even if you’re not seeking a degree.

About Covenant History

Covenant Seminary has been equipping men and women for deeper growth and ministry since 1956. Our faculty is highly regarded for biblical expertise and scholarship having contributed more scholarly content for the popular ESV Study Bible than any other. Each faculty member practices hands-on pastoral ministry to ensure learning remains grace-filled, meaningful to the student and impactful to the culture.

Faq

How much does it cost to be a student?

If you are taking courses for credit, it is $495 per credit hour (+$60 in fees per semester). If you are auditing, the cost is $48 per credit hour. Special discounts are available.

Can I complete a full degree in Nashville?

We are officially accredited to offer 49% of our Master of Arts (Theological Studies) degree on site in Nashville. Students can then take the remaining 51% via online classes or on campus in St. Louis.

What if I am interested in a degree other than the MATS?

We can work with you! Due to recent curriculum revisions, there is a good deal of overlap between our programs. If you are interested in another degree, you could relocate to St. Louis to complete your necessary coursework. You would need ask faculty permission to switch between programs.

What support services are available to students in Nashville?

Our St. Louis staff is available to talk things through with any of our Nashville-based students. From financial aid to academic advising to library questions, we desire to serve! We will also have a small library on site in Nashville for students to use.

How do I get books for my courses?

Our online bookstore (http://bookstore.covenantseminary.edu) lists all of the necessary textbooks for each course. Students can generally budget $30 per credit hour for books.

I am already working full time. How time consuming will this be?

If you are planning on taking courses for credit, our rule of thumb is that you can plan on studying (reading, writing, etc.) 2 hours for every 1 hour spent in class.

How can I ask more questions?
