Starting in fall 2014, students seeking a Master of Arts (Theological Studies)(MATS) at Covenant Seminary will have a whole new way of doing so. In addition to on-campus full-time or part-time study, students may now pursue the MATS fully online. This newly revised and accredited version of the MATS is the same degree program offered for on-campus study, but allows students to take all required classes part-time online. No on-campus residency is necessary.
Designed especially for those who desire to increase their knowledge of the Bible and bring an informed Christian perspective to a variety of callings, the online MATS is ideal for lay leaders and others seeking a deeper understanding of their faith, but who are unable to move to St. Louis for full-time seminary study.
The program offers:
- The same content taught by the same professors as our on-campus courses.
- The flexibility to move through the full program at your own pace while completing individual courses according to established schedules.
- Opportunities for regular interaction with professors and fellow students in an online learning community through discussion forums, video conferencing, and group projects.
- The possibility of applying a limited number of credit hours toward a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree.
