When: Sunday, January 14, 4 p.m.
Where: Equation Church, 4032 N. 22nd Street, St. Louis, MO 63107
Theme: Reclaim MLK
What: It is necessary that we reclaim the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a preacher, protester, and prophet. His message and aims have long been misconstrued to comfort the consciences of the masses, yet we are in a day and time when the truths we have exchanged for a lie no longer serve any of us well. Come join the City Ministry Initiative, Faith for Justice, and other community organizations as we reclaim MLK. We will hear and learn from groups such as St. Louis Action Council and the Poor People’s Campaign during our “teach-in” time. We will lift up songs of praise and resistance. We will dine together and model “beloved community.” There will also be a panel discussion of church and community leaders sharing and encouraging us to walk in the ways of Dr. King, and ultimately in the ways of Christ. It’s a time you won’t want to miss! Free and family-friendly!
