Topic: Homosexuality and the Church: Towards Faithful Pastoral Care
When: Friday, Oct. 24, 7 – 9 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 25, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Presented By: The Francis A. Schaeffer Institute in association with FirstLight of St. Louis
What: The conference seeks to provide useful pastoral guidance to the Seminary community and our churches on the issues of sexuality broadly and homosexuality in particular. Join us as we explore questions like: What might it look like for the church to come alongside those attracted to the same sex as they travel the difficult road of discipleship? How can we disciple well those who experience these trials well? How might we understand discipleship in terms of “being on the way?”
Speakers: Dr. Mark Yarhouse, Hughes Endowed Chair and Professor of Psychology at Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Dr. Wesley Hill, assistant professor of biblical studies, Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pennsylvania; Prof. Jerram Barrs, professor of Christian studies and contemporary culture and resident scholar of the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute, Covenant Seminary.
Cost: $20 General Admission; $10 for Covenant Seminary students and Concordia Seminary students.
