City Ministry Initiative

Our Mission And Work

Gospel Relevance in Cultural Context

With its rich cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity, St. Louis is a fertile training ground for students to develop a broader Kingdom perspective. One way that this takes place is through our City Ministry Initiative (CMI), which offers courses, seminars, and field education opportunities toward the goal of engaging in and reflecting on the practice of ministry in intercultural city contexts. We help build learning pathways into the beauty and brokenness of our city through bridging partnerships with churches and non-profits across denominational, city-county, ethnic, and socio-economic lines to highlight our common dignity and limitations as image-bearers.
