Old Building, New Purpose: Introducing the MTW House

In 2010, the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute, the Counseling Department, and A/V Services moved from the old white house on the south end of our campus to new quarters on the top floors of Founders Hall (FSI) and the J. Oliver Buswell Jr. Library (Counseling and A/V). The old house, now refurbished and repurposed as a residence for single male students, will be called The MTW House in honor of the many missionaries who serve the Kingdom through the PCA’s Mission to the World. The name is also a tribute to Dr. Paul Kooistra, coordinator of MTW, who served as the Seminary’s third president from 1985 to 1994 and whose family was the last to reside in the house when it served as the President’s home.
