Annual Scholarship Fund

Investing in Future Church Leaders

For most students, coming to seminary is a leap of faith in many ways. Some come right after college with only a sense of calling and very little means of support. Others leave full-time jobs with good salaries and benefits, moving their families across the country in order to make the transition to seminary. Whatever the case, the fact is that the majority of our students simply cannot afford the price of tuition and living expenses without financial assistance from our scholarship program.

Covenant Seminary seeks to help as many students as possible who demonstrate financial need -- but we can only do so by the grace of God and with the generous assistance of donors like you. By giving toward these scholarships, you:

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

-- 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)

  • Help to keep tuition costs affordable by minimizing tuition increases.
  • Enable graduating students to enter into ministry without the burden of heavy debt.
  • Invest not only in these students, but also in their families, their future ministries, and the worldwide church.

Your support will have an impact for eternity, as God uses your gifts and prayers to extend his message of grace throughout the world and to future generations.

Scholarship Support Opportunities

Your gift directly supports the training of a future pastor or ministry leader by helping to cover all or part of that student’s tuition costs. Through the assistance of our donors, the Seminary is able to award more than $1.5 million in scholarship support to promising pastoral students each year, based on ministry calling and personal need. Special scholarship support opportunities include:

  • Founders Scholarship Award—100% scholarships awarded to full-time Master of Divinity (MDiv) students who show great potential for church leadership.
  • Ministry Leadership Award—50% scholarships awarded to MDiv and MAEM students who are called to work in a local church context.
  • Spouse Teamwork Scholarship Award—100% scholarships awarded to qualified spouses of full-time students.
  • Endowed Scholarship Awards—Full or partial scholarships funded by donors who want to invest in a qualified student’s seminary education while honoring family members, church leaders, or friends.

Other scholarship support opportunities are also available. If you would like to learn more about the ways in which you can invest in the life of a future church leader, please call our Development office at 1.800.264.8064 and ask for John Ranheim or Joel Christie, our directors of development. If you prefer, you may e-mail one of them at john.ranheim@covenantseminary.edu or joel.christie@covenantseminary.edu.
