Your Student ID serves as your Library card, and is your key to the resources of the Covenant Seminary Library and many other libraries in the area. You must present your Student ID whenever you want to check out materials from the Covenant Seminary Library. You can also use your Student ID to check out library materials at Concordia Seminary and any MOBIUS school such as Eden Seminary, Saint Louis University, and Washington University.
The most important piece of information on your Student ID is the number just below the barcode.
The first block of digits (highlighted in green above) is your student number. This is the same number that is used in your Portal username.
The entire sequence of numbers and letters (minus the spaces) is your Library Card number, which you will use when accessing Library resources online. This includes viewing your Library account, requesting books from other libraries, and using electronic resources from home. Don't type the spaces when you enter your Library Card number -- like on your credit cards, they're just there to make it easier to read.
If you lose your Student ID, the Library can issue you a new ID card. There is a $5 replacement charge for lost cards.
If you suspect that the security of your Library account has been compromised, the Library can change your Library Card number and issue you a new card. There is no charge for this as long as you turn in your old card.
