MA (Theological Studies) (MATS)
In a pluralistic world dominated by postmodernism, many people seek a deeper knowledge of the truth of the Bible and its application to their lives. The Master of Arts (Theological Studies) (MATS) trains students biblically and theologically to bring an informed Christian perspective to their world and their callings. This degree offers helpful study for lay leaders and people who desire a more informed perspective on faith and life.Distinctives of the MATS
The MATS at Covenant Seminary gives students the flexibility to pursue biblical studies or the application of biblical studies to current culture. The MATS offers students a broad foundation in Christian topics in order to build skills in lay leadership and personal growth. This degree is available both on campus and through distance education.Broad Foundation
The MATS degree exposes students to the areas of biblical studies, theology, Christian heritage, and communication of the gospel in addition to a variety of electives. This liberal arts-type curriculum grounds students in God’s Word and prepares them for a broad application of the material learned in areas ranging from missions to local church ministries.Evening/Off-Campus Option
Students may pursue the MATS in several ways: full time, part time, day or evening on-campus study, and part time through distance education. Covenant Seminary is committed to offering the complete MATS degree in the evening as well as through distance education in order to accommodate students who work full time or are employed outside the continental United States.Master of Arts (Theological Studies)
