Christ-Centered Worship: Letting the Gospel Shape Our Practice (Grand Rapids: Baker Book House, 2005)
In Christ-Centered Worship, Dr. Chapell, author of the highly respected preaching text Christ-Centered Preaching, brings historical and biblical perspectives to bear on discussions about worship, demonstrating that the gospel has always been key to the development of liturgical traditions and should also shape contemporary worship. The book addresses practical issues, looks outward to the church's mission, and provides resources for worship planning, encouraging readers to identify their church's specific gospel calling as the basis for making decisions about worship.
