Log Cabin Childcare

The Log Cabin--an actual log cabin and one of the original buildings on the Seminary campus--serves as the base for most of our on-campus childcare activities. Seminary parents who need forms and other documents related to childcare may download them. In addition, Parents' Night Out and Parents' Mornings Out provide free childcare for seminary couples and wives who desire free time that might otherwise be difficult to arrange. The Family Nurture Program also "adopts" certain courses by providing free childcare so that couples with children can learn together in class.

Parents Morning Out (PMO)

Parents Morning Out is a cooperative effort between a program supervisor and parents who have children partici­pating in PMO. Each week is centered on a Bible lesson and includes songs, free play, arts and crafts, and outdoor play (weather permitting).

  • For children ages 6 months through 5 years (Pre-K)
  • Offered to families one-day per week during the fall and spring terms
  • Choose Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday morning with the day remaining the same throughout the semester.*
  • From 9 to 11:30 a.m. (M/F) or 8:30 to 11 a.m. (W)

Families who participate must have one parent volunteer one to two times per semester.

*PMO does not meet when seminary classes are not in session.

Childcare for specific Seminary Classes and Chapel

Childcare is offered for select courses such as the evening section of the semester-long Spiritual and Ministry Forma­tion and special weekend courses such as Gospel-Centered Parenting when both parents are registered and attending the class.

Select Weekend Classes

  • For children ages 6 months through 10 years
  • Services provided for duration of class time Friday night (usually 7 to 9 p.m.) and a portion of the Saturday class (usually 8 a.m. to noon).

Chapel

Chapel is held from 10 a.m. to 10.45 on Tuesdays and Fridays. Throughout the year, childcare is provided during a few select chapels. Watch for announcements about this throughout the year.

  • For children ages 6 months through 5 years
  • From 9:45 to 11 a.m. on several predetermined chapel days
