Family Life
Family Nurture Program
Flowing from a deep sense of commitment to the family, Student Life directs a unique Family Nurture Program designed to focus specifically on the needs and interests of married students (and those preparing for marriage), their spouses, and their children. This program includes a variety of opportunities for support groups, fellowship, learning, and general preparation for the joys and challenges that ministry brings to family life.
Here are some of the broader opportunities provided or managed by Student Life:
- Seminary picnics offer quarterly, large-group fellowship opportunities
- On-campus playground
- Organic Community Garden
- Free Store (household goods, adult and children’s clothes, etc)
- Counseling services are offered for free during specific times of the year by students in the counseling program who are under supervison.

Training Specifically For Women and Spouses
We believe that families enter ministry together. Even if a spouse does not plan to take on a leadership role, it is important for them to be life as a couple or family in ministry. Specific courses are designed with married students/spouses in mind (see “Curriculum Sequence”). Women are are welcome in the classroom and are encouraged to take advantage of office hours with faculty. Women are eligible to complete any degree offered at Covenant Seminary, though for the MDiv they will pursue the non-ordination track. In addition, our Spouse Teamwork Scholarship can help student spouses audit classes for free.
Additional Activities
Fellowship activities for wives are held periodically with the specific intention of addressing the special needs of student spouses in both a small group setting and a larger context of fellowship.
International Women’s Group
These are weekly gatherings of women who are students or wives of students. The purpose is to learn from other godly women, pray, and encourage one another as they seek to better minister to their families.
- Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Childcare provided for children ages 6 months to 5 years (with possible exceptions) when mothers attend this group.
For more information about the International Women's Group, contact Student Life at studentlife@covenantseminary.edu.
Women's Student Fellowship
Women's Student Fellowship (WSF) hosts regular ministry lunches to welcome new female students, pray for one another, network, and discuss the joys and challenges for women in ministry. WSF also brings in alumnae to serve as speakers and for panel discussions regarding how they use their seminary degrees to serve in ministry. In addition, WSF aids in providing women with leadership training and highlighting various ministry opportunities for them.
For more information on WSF, contact Tasha Chapman at Tasha.Chapman@covenantseminary.edu or 314.392.4218.
