Covenant Worldwide's purpose is to provide ready access to grace-centered, high-quality theological training by minimizing the barriers of distance, cost, and language. This goal recognizes the Seminary's part in stewarding the resources of theological education to the Church, which is growing most rapidly in areas of the world where ministry training is often least available. Our hope and prayer is that no matter where God has stationed you in His Kingdom or how He has gifted you to serve, you will find that these resources encourage, strengthen, and equip your ministry and Christian walk.

Covenant Seminary is vitally concerned not only with finding the best ways to train pastors for future ministry, but also with how to sustain them for long-term service to the Church. In 2004, with the assistance of a generous Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Seminary began the Center for Ministry Leadership, an educational and research initiative focused on changing lives and transforming churches through engagement with effective ministry leaders.
The Center, under the direction of Dr. Bob Burns and in keeping with the Seminary's philosophy of pastors training pastors, explores issues related to pastoral ministry and seeks to develop principles and practices that will enhance the Seminary's ability to prepare church leaders who will remain rooted in grace for a lifetime of effective ministry.

Fundamental to the understanding of the Bible is study of the Scriptures in their original context, including a knowledge of the lands and peoples in those ages in which God's Word was revealed and recorded. The W. Harold Mare Institute for Biblical and Archaeological Studies offers students an excellent opportunity to understand better the importance of Biblical history and cultural background to the teaching of Biblical truth.
The institute is named after the late Dr. W. Harold Mare, a founding trustee and long-time professor at Covenant Seminary. Housed on Covenant Seminary's campus, this museum and research lab features an extensive library of materials on Biblical archaeology, as well as many hundreds of artifacts, most of which were excavated at Abila of the Decapolis by Dr. Mare and his teams over the past few decades. The excavations continue today under the direction of Dr. David Chapman, Associate Professor of New Testament and Biblical Archaeology, who also serves as Curator of the Institute.
The Archaeology Institute shepherds a student-led Archaeology Club, which organizes and sponsors several archaeology-themed meetings, lectures, or special presentations annually that are open to the public. These events present the latest findings and accomplishments in the world of archaeology through exhibits, special guest lecturers, and films.
