One important way in which Covenant Seminary seeks to prepare servants of the triune God to be rooted in grace for a lifetime of ministry is by offering a variety of continuing education opportunities. From weekend and week-long classes to conferences and special publications to advanced degree programs, the goal of all our continuing education opportunities is to help you be more effective in the ministry setting to which the Lord has called you. For more information, please contact our Admissions office.
Covenant Seminary regularly includes convenient weekend or week-long ministry enrichment courses in its Lifetime of Ministry program. Any Lifetime of Ministry course can be audited (non-transcript audit) for a minimal fee of $25 per credit hour. We encourage you to take full advantage of these unique opportunities for practical learning and spiritual growth.

The Master of Theology (ThM) degree provides advanced training for students already holding the Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree. The ThM in Exegetical Theology helps pastors, missionaries, and teachers sharpen exegetical skills, as well as develop research skills and test a calling to further study; it requires a thesis. The ThM in Biblical and Pastoral Theology is a more flexible and pastorally oriented program including course work in both the biblical and practical disciplines; a thesis is not a part of this program. Either program may be completed in as little as one year, although students writing a thesis will need additional time.

The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree provides additional advanced professional training for those who hold the Master of Divinity (MDiv) and are active in ordained ministry. The curriculum is designed to help students draw upon Biblical, historical, and theological resources and attain a higher degree of competence in the practice of ministry. Students complete the thirty-hour curriculum by taking intensive one-week courses and completing an extensive ministry project while continuing their present ministries. Students may choose to pursue a concentration in Preaching, Counseling, or Church Planting, Growth, and Renewal.

Covenant Seminary's annual Connect Conference, sponsored by the Center for Ministry Leadership, offers pastors and ministry leaders from all over the country the opportunity to come together for a time of encouragement, fellowship, and renewal. The conference provides a regular means for ministry leaders to sharpen their skills, reconnect with old friends or make new ones, and to recharge their spiritual batteries. In addition to Seminary faculty, the conference features guest speakers known for their ministry expertise, and offers breakout sessions focused on specific practical ministry concerns. Recent topics have included endurance in ministry, leading for change, church discipline, evangelism, and worship.

Twice a year, the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute (FSI) brings noted speakers to St. Louis to give a series of lectures on a topic of contemporary interest to the Church and to the broader community. The public is invited to and can register to earn academic credit for these lectures through Covenant Seminary. Downloadable audio files (in MP3 format) of many of the lectures are available through Covenant Seminary's Ministry Resources. Audio tapes, CDs, and sometimes video tapes of lectures are also available through our Audiovisual department.

Covenant Worldwide's purpose is to provide ready access to grace-centered, high-quality theological training by minimizing the barriers of distance, cost, and language. This goal recognizes the Seminary's part in stewarding the resources of theological education to the Church, which is growing most rapidly in areas of the world where ministry training is often least available. Our hope and prayer is that no matter where God has stationed you in His Kingdom or how He has gifted you to serve, you will find that these resources encourage, strengthen, and equip your ministry and Christian walk.
