Field Education
Many of our degree programs require a specific number of hours of supervised field education experience in areas relevant to those programs. Through this requirement, we seek to help students:
- Grow in walking with God and leading God’s people.
- Integrate learning in the classroom with the practice of ministry.
- Confirm or clarify their gifts and calling.
- Identify ministry-related strengths and weaknesses.
The Field Education Office assists students in finding churches and ministries in the area that offer opportunities for meeting the field education requirements. Students can gain valuable ministry experience in activities ranging from supervising adult education classes at a local church to coordinating new outreach programs and overseeing youth or children's ministries. With prayer, effort, and a little creative thinking, the possibilities are endless!
