Equipping You for a Lifetime of Fruitful Ministry

Covenant Seminary is committed to helping our graduates and others in ministry stay rooted in grace for a lifetime of fruitful service to God’s people. To this end, we offer a variety of continuing education opportunities—both on campus and online—that help you grow in grace within the context of trusted peer relationships. From weekend and week-long classes to special conferences and lectures, from advanced degree programs to a vast array of free publications, online classes, and other grace-centered resources, our goal is to equip you to be a more effective Kingdom servant in whatever ministry setting the Lord has placed you.

On-Campus Opportunities

  • Lifetime of Ministry Classes. We regularly feature convenient weekend or week-long ministry enrichment courses that are free to alumni and spouses, and can be audited (non-transcript audit) by others for a minimal fee of $25 per credit hour. We encourage you to take full advantage of these unique opportunities for practical learning and spiritual growth.
  • Free Lecture Series. Several free lecture series enable students, alumni, and others to benefit from the experience and insights of prominent evangelical speakers and preachers.
    • The Francis A. Schaeffer Lectures help believers develop appropriately Christian responses to contemporary cultural issues. Speakers have included Jerram Barrs, Andy Crouch, Dick Keyes, James Skillen, Kevin Twit, and others.
    • The Covenant Seminary Preaching Lectures bring in prominent evangelical preachers to speak on topics and issues related to the field of homiletics. Speakers have included Mark Dever, Tim Keller, Sinclair Ferguson, John Piper, and others.
    • The David C. Jones Theology Lectures allow the seminary community to benefit from the expertise of noted theologians. Speakers have included James Kombo, Kevin VanHoozer, and Christopher J. H. Wright.
    • The Men's Leadership Breakfast (MLB) brings area businessmen, retirees, students, Seminary staff, and any other interested men together to study the Bible under the teaching of the Seminary's faculty.
  • Advanced Degree Programs and Other Resources

Online Opportunities

  • Worldwide Classroom offers free downloadable audio lectures and print outlines for more than 25 complete seminary courses for church or individual use. The MyClassroom feature allows users to choose from a variety of study plans and track their progress.
  • Living Christ Today offers daily Bible teaching and devotional thoughts from Dr. Bryan Chapell and others, along with interviews and discussions with other Covenant Seminary professors and leading evangelical figures such as Alistair Begg, Jim Belcher, Chuck Colson, Tim Keller, Scotty Smith, and others.
  • Resources for Life offers free access to a searchable database of more than 1,000 free print and audio resources to encourage you in ministry and help you nurture the faith of those you serve.

Free Publications

  • Covenant Magazine is published twice a year and features insightful articles, news, and alumni and faculty updates.
  • eConnect is our monthly electronic newsletter that keeps alumni, pastors, and other church leaders connected to the Seminary and each other.
  • Living Christ Today is the bi-monthly e-newsletter companion to our daily Living Christ Today Webcast with Dr. Bryan Chapell and offers news, information, and resources to encourage you in Christ-centered living.

  • National studies reveal that as much as 30% of MDiv graduates leave the ministry within five years of graduating from seminary. By God’s grace, this is true for less than 7% of Covenant Seminary graduates.
  • Our graduates tend to remain in ministry at a rate four times higher than graduates from other accredited seminaries. Through our alumni and placement office, we walk alongside alumni to ensure their health in ministry, especially during the crucial first five years after graduation.
